About the Creators

JACKIE URBANOVIC

Jackie Urbanovic has operated her business, Cartoonist at Large, Inc., for 14 years. Her work ranges from children's books and toys to advertising and corporate public relations. But comic book art is her passion. Urbanovic has based Maggie, Inc.™ on the daily pitfalls and triumphs she has encountered in her career, and the advice she's given and received about entrepreneurship: living by the daily planner, juggling phone calls, deliveries and friends who sometimes forget she has a business to run. It's a mixture of triumph and chaos, as Urbanovic describes it. But good or bad, she has discovered enough humor in it to brighten anyone's perspective.

MICHELLE MASSMAN

Early in her life, Michelle Massman realized that she wasn't destined to be an employee. She had a fierce interest in turning her passions into action, of working and thinking in ways that served her mind, body and spirit. 15 years after embarking on her first entrepreneurial venture, Massman is currently co-owner of Maggie Comics, CEO of consulting firm Massman & Associates, president of Women's Showcase Inc., and founder and director of Works in Progress, Inc.

Massman believes that laughter is the key to survival in entrepreneurship and life. Many of the Maggie, Inc. strips are direct depictions of the joys, craziness and everyday occurrences in her life and the women around her.
